Proceedings

The Proceedings of the Symposium will appear electronically and on paper as Volume 254 in the IAU Proceedings Series. A hard copy of the proceedings is included in the registration fee.
Editors: J. Andersen (Chief Editor), J. Bland-Hawthorn & B. Nordström.

The Book of Abstracts (PDF file, 300 kb) is now available!

All oral contributions will be published in the IAU Symposium Series. Papers must be prepared in Latex, using the style files provided by the IAU Publisher, Cambridge University Press (CUP). The CUP Instructions for Authors can be found here; all the files needed for the preparation of papers are stored both individually and as a gzipped tar file here.

In order to respect the page limit for the completed volume, the following maximum page allocations apply:

  • 12 pages for Invited Reviews
  •  6 pages for all other oral contributions

Due to the very large number of contributions, poster papers cannot be included in the printed volume. Instead, they will be published electronically at the CUP web site together with the on-line version of the book. An index with links to the poster contributions will be included in the printed volume.

The size of the poster display is 120 x 120 cm.

Paper versions of posters for the proceedings may be submitted in one of two formats:

  • Same as the oral contributions, but as a single, final PDF (not Latex!) file with maximum 6 pages; or
  • As a PDF file of the actual poster, in the same format as presented.

In either case, the PDF file should be sent by e-mail as an attachment to the address given below, and by the same deadlines. The maximum file size is 5 Mb.

NB: The (first) authors of all contributions (posters as well as oral) must sign the IAU Copyright Transfer Form, which is provided as a PDF file HERE.

Please download and sign the copyright form before you arrive, and hand it to us at the meeting!

The IAU contract with CUP stipulates that the Proceedings should be published six months after the Symposium. As CUP needs three months for the production process, the Editors have only three months after the Symposium to complete their task.

Accordingly, all manuscripts are due, as one single e-mail with attached Latex and PS figure files (single PDF file for posters), to iau254@nbi.dk:

Either AT THE MEETING or by FRIDAY, JULY 11, 2008, at the very latest!

As we are constrained by the IAU deadline, authors must submit their manuscripts by these deadlines, or their contributions will be omitted from the volume. The IAU Copyright Form must be signed and submitted to the Editors before or by the same deadlines.

Any questions concerning the Proceedings can be sent to the same e-mail address as above.
